Portfolio

One of joys of being a communications professional is the opportunity to use my skills in a variety of ways. I’ve written everything from feature stories to corporate brochure copy to video scripts featuring Betty White. Once, I even ghostwrote a memorial tribute! I’ve edited stories about elephants and canine cancer, FCC regulations and Wi-Fi technology, and university events.

Below is a sampling of my work.

Collateral/Promotional Pieces

Five pieces below were part of a complete rebranding effort. I managed the entire production process, wrote the content and collaborated with a freelance designer to develop the organization’s new look and feel. The Happy Healthy Cat brochure and poster I wrote as part of an award-winning public awareness campaign.

Newsletters

As a former reporter, managing editor and editor, newsletters and magazines hold a special place in my heart. Below are some of my favorites that I’ve produced.

Annual Reports

Some people think annual reports are nothing but numbers, but they don’t have to be. These publications give companies an opportunity to highlight their stories and successes. These are the most recent reports I wrote and managed.

Articles/Press Releases

I’ve written thousands of articles and press releases over the years, some as a freelancer and many while working for companies. The PDF articles below are great example of a content marketing partnership.

Video Scripts

Video offers a great visual way to share a story—and you don’t have to have big budgets to be effective. “Lovey’s Story” was told by adding effective text and music to what was simply low-res video provided by a researcher. On the other three videos, I collaborated with a top-notch video producer. The Betty White video won an Emmy for PSAs, and the Happy Healthy Cat Campaign video was part of an awareness campaign that won Colorado PRSA’s Nonprofit of the Year Award.
